Legal · Terms
Clear rules for everyone. By using AIStoryHub you agree to these terms. We've made them as plain and fair as possible.
Acceptance of Terms
By using AIStoryHub, you agree to these terms. We've written them in plain language to be fair and clear. If you don't agree with anything here, please don't use our service.
Service Licence
You can use AIStoryHub to write stories, collaborate with others, and access our AI writing tools. This licence is for your personal and professional creative writing. We just ask that you don't try to reverse-engineer our AI or use the platform for illegal activities.
User Accounts
Keep your account secure by using a strong password and not sharing your login details. You're responsible for what happens in your account, so let us know if you suspect unauthorised access. We'll help you secure it.
Content Ownership
Your stories belong to you, full stop. We don't claim ownership of anything you create. We only need permission to store and process your content to provide our services (like saving your drafts and running our AI). You can export your work anytime.
Community and Public Content
When you publish a story or worldbuilding collection, or share your work in a beta-reader group, you make that content visible to others and grant us the limited right to host, display, and distribute it so those features can work. You keep full ownership of your work (see Content Ownership above). You're responsible for what you publish, and you agree not to post content that is unlawful, infringing, hateful, or harassing. We may remove content or restrict features that violate these terms or harm other users.
Fan-Fiction and Third-Party Material
AIStoryHub supports fan-fiction and shared story universes that may draw on characters, settings, or worlds created by others. You are responsible for ensuring your use of any third-party material is lawful, for example as non-commercial fan work or fair use in your jurisdiction. Please don't use the platform to infringe anyone's copyright or trademark, and don't commercially exploit work based on protected material without the rights-holder's permission. We respond to valid intellectual-property complaints and may remove infringing content.
Prohibited Uses
Please don't use our platform for anything illegal, harmful, or that violates others' rights. This includes creating content that's defamatory, harassing, or infringes on copyrights. We're here to support creative writing, not harmful activities.
AI Features and Generated Content
Our AI tools help you draft and revise, but they can produce inaccurate, biased, or unoriginal text, and similar output may be generated for other users. You are the author: review, edit, and verify anything you publish, and you're responsible for the content you create with these tools. The availability and quality of any given model, including our free built-in model, may vary or change.
Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)
AIStoryHub operates on a Bring Your Own Key model. To use AI features, you connect API keys from third-party providers such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, or OpenRouter directly to your account. You are solely responsible for managing your usage and any costs incurred with those providers. AIStoryHub does not charge you for AI token usage, does not control your provider billing, and is not liable for any charges you incur. We strongly recommend setting spending limits and usage alerts directly in each provider's dashboard. By adding an API key, you confirm that you have the right to use it and that you accept full responsibility for all associated costs.
Developer API and Access Tokens
You may access your own account programmatically through our API using access tokens you generate in your settings. Keep these tokens secret; they carry the permissions you grant them, and you are responsible for activity performed with them. Please don't use the API to place unreasonable load on the platform, to reach accounts or data that aren't yours, or to bulk-extract our content to build a competing service. We may rate-limit, scope, suspend, or revoke tokens to protect the service, and the API may change over time.
Pricing and Payment
AIStoryHub is free to use. There is no subscription, seat fee, or usage cap charged by us. To use AI features you either connect your own API key and pay that provider directly (see Bring Your Own Key above), or use our free built-in model, which we fund and provide as-is and may change, limit, or discontinue at any time. If we ever introduce a paid feature, we'll make its price clear before you buy it.
Promotions and Contests
From time to time we run promotions, such as writing contests. Each promotion has its own official rules governing eligibility, entry, judging, and prizes, and those rules control for that promotion if they conflict with these terms. Participation is voluntary and open only where permitted by law.
Service Availability
We work hard to keep AIStoryHub running smoothly, but sometimes we need to do maintenance or updates. We'll try to schedule these during low-traffic hours and give you advance notice when possible. Check our status page for real-time updates.
Limitation of Liability
While we do our best to protect your data and keep the service running, we can't be held responsible for lost profits or indirect damages. We're not liable for any creative decisions you make using our AI tools. We're here to help, but you're the author.
Termination
You can delete your account anytime from your settings. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms, but we'll try to work with you first. If we do need to terminate an account, we'll give you a chance to export your stories before doing so.
Governing Law
AIStoryHub is operated from the Province of Quebec, Canada. These terms, and any dispute arising from them or from your use of the service, are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree that the courts located in the Province of Quebec have jurisdiction over any such dispute, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your place of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings in your own courts.
Changes to Terms
If we need to update these terms, we'll notify you by email and post the changes here. For significant changes, we'll give you 30 days' notice. Your continued use means you accept the new terms.
